HISTORIC PRESERVATION + REUSE
MAIN STREET FACADE REVITALIZATION
Society Design Company is partnering once again with ARCHitecture Trio on this Historic Façade Renovation Project. Funded by the Indiana MSRP (Main Street Revitalization Grant), Society Design Company and ARCHtrio has worked with individual building owners and City Officials to create the designs for 11 downtown historic facades. The completion of this project will totally change the built landscape of the small town of Rochester, and ensure the survival of these buildings for future generations to enjoy.
The pictures shown are of Rochester in the past and as it is now, we will update as construction continues!
WHEELER ARTS APARTMENTS
Society Design partnered with Indianapolis Architectural Firm, ARCHitecture Trio to design eight new two-bedroom units in a historic warehouse space attached to the existing Wheeler Arts Community. In addition to the eight new units, Society Design worked with the architect and client to design seven new units in an existing auditorium space, and redesigning new kitchens and walled-off bedrooms in the existing loft units. The existing unused basement is being turned into an underground parking garage that services the apartment community.
Originally a factory that supported the automotive industry, this historic complex in the Fountain Square neighborhood of Indianapolis provides a home and display space to local artists and fits well in this art-centered area of the city.
